50th Western Port Festival
As the very proud Patron of the Western Port Festival, it gave me great pleasure to join the Hon Greg Hunt and Cr Kate Roper in judging the winning float the parade, last Saturday.

Country Fire Authority enterprise bargaining agreement

Victorian Firefighter Cancer Compensation
Late last month I had the honour of signing a pledge to show support for our local brigade firefighters. Volunteer Fire Brigades Victoria(VFBV), the body that represents volunteer firefighters across our state, has launched a campaign to encourage Victorian MPs to support all firefighters in recognition of the risks they run of contracting cancer from exposure to toxins as part of their firefighting service role.
Hastings Electorate – Government Performance
The Hastings electorate has been ignored during the Premier's first year in office. For 11 years under the Bracks and Brumby governments budget after budget neglected our area. In stark contrast, over the four years the coalition was in government hundreds of millions of dollars were poured into badly needed upgrades to local infrastructure and services.
