Kananook Stabling Project Blows Out Under Labor

Under Daniel Andrews and Sonya Kilkenny, the proposed Seaford Stabling project has blown out by a whopping $49.3 million, according to the Andrews Government’s 2018-19 Budget.

The Andrews Government’s promise of it costing $187.4 million has blown out like every other major transport related project this government has announced.

The proposal is now costings Victorian taxpayers a hefty $236.7 million to relocate stabling to Seaford, against the community’s wishes.

The only people who don’t seem to care for the seven small businesses who have to be acquired for the stabling to be removed to Seaford is Daniel Andrews and his out-of-touch and arrogant local member, Sonya Kilkenny.

Sonya Kilkenny has sat by and watched this project unfold, refusing to support the small, family businesses like Jayco Page Bros, who will close their business and have to lay off their 50, loyal employees.

Over 200 jobs will go thanks to this project, proving the Andrews Government’s rhetoric on creating jobs is just more lies.

This budget blow-out proves you just can’t trust Labor to manage finances appropriately.

Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Small and Medium Enterprise, Neale Burgess:

“The Kananook Stabling proposal is shameful, it is killing small businesses in Seaford and the local Member is washing her hands of them”.

“This is taxpayers dollars that the Andrews Labor Government is throwing away, why should taxpayer’s pay for a proposal that doesn’t stack up in the community”?
