Member for Hastings Neale Burgess was very pleased to confirm that Western Port, Langwarrin and Coastal Villages families who are customers of South East Water will get $400 of real savings on their household water bills thanks to the Victorian Coalition Government.
“The Victorian Coalition Government is committed to reducing cost of living pressures on families in the Electorate of Hastings and our Fairer Water Bills will deliver real savings for household budgets,” Mr Burgess said.
“Under Fairer Water Bills, more than $1 billion of savings have been identified across Victoria’s water corporations.
“These savings will translate into bill reductions of approximately $100 per year for household customers of South East Water for the next four year.”
“Customers will start seeing the Fairer Water Bills $100 discounts on their household bills from July 2014”.
Mr Burgess said the Victorian Coalition Government was delivering on the promise to make household water bills are as low as possible.
“Household water bills for Western Port, Langwarrin, Coastal Villages customers have skyrocketed because of poor decisions by the former Labor government, like the desalination plant and the north-south pipeline”.
“The Napthine Coalition Government has found real savings for water bills that will help ease the cost of living pressures on families”.
“The water corporations have worked hard to identify savings and efficiencies that will not compromise service standards, and the customer hardship protections that help struggling customers will continue.”
Mr Burgess said the Victorian Coalition Government had a strong record helping families balance their budgets.
“Victorian Coalition Government initiatives include flexible pricing for electricity bills, more affordable public transport, an increased first home buyer’s stamp duty concession, and more than doubling funding for utilities concessions to $508 million”.
“Fairer Water Bills is the latest way the Victorian Coalition Government is delivering real hip-pocket savings for the families of Western Port, Langwarrin and Coastal Villages”.
