Rapid antigen testing would allow all Victorians to exit lockdown sooner and with more certainty. It would also provide our health experts with a more accurate and clearer picture of where the virus is within our most vulnerable communities.
If rapid antigen testing is good enough for Victoria’s court system and in schools interstate, why can’t it be used here?
The question mark over democracy in our state could also be removed if rapid testing was implemented in our Parliament. We must treat our democracy as the priceless asset that it is and make this shambolic government accountable for its decisions and actions, and we can only do that effectively if our state Parliament is able to convene regularly.
Rapid antigen testing is not a magic bullet to save the world from COVID, but it is an essential tool to help us reopen our state and get on with our lives.
