Parks & Reserves in the Hastings Electorate

Hastings Electorate has a large and diverse range of parks and reserves which include: sporting reserves, bushland reserves, foreshore areas, wetlands, parks and gardens. 


Barber Reserve

Features: oval, pavilion, playground, half court basketball, seat, picnic tables and public toilets.


Bunguyan Reserve

1475 Frankston-Flinders Road, Tyabb 3913

Features: public toilets, football and cricket pavilion, cricket nets, netball courts, Luke Batty Memorial, Tyabb Tennis Club pavilion, BBQs and two ovals.


Clairmont Close Playground

Features: flying fox, swing set, slide, climbing cube


Crib Point Reserve

Features: netball courts, playground, seating, public toilets, pavilion, grandstand, swimming pool, oval and cricket practice nets.

Fred Smith Reserve, Hastings Foreshore

Close to Pelican Park Recreation Centre and Hastings Boat Ramp

Features: Outdoor Fitness Stations - Six outdoor fitness stations have been installed along the walking/cycling track at Hastings foreshore. Outdoor chess board. Skate park, Picnic tables, Playground with Slides, Swings, Rope / climbing features, Tunnel, Rope bridge. Walking trails and an off-leash dog area.


Fruit Growers Reserve

Features: playground, BBQ, oval, pavilion, public toilets, canteen & community hall (close by).


Graham Myers Recreation Reserve

101 Hendersons Road, Bittern 3918

Features: public toilets, tennis, playground, oval, soccer pitches and seating. Radio Control Car Club, Bittern Stadium with basketball court.


Hastings Park

159 Marine Parade, Hastings 3915  

Features: practice cricket nets, cricket oval and football pavilion, two ovals, public toilets, playground, BBQ and Hastings Club.


Olivers Creek Bushland Reserve

190 Mornington-Tyabb Road, Tyabb 3913 

Features: Swamp Scrub and Gully Woodland vegetation along the walking tracks. Kid's audio trail at the school end.

Main access point: via the Tyabb PS carpark, off Mornington-Tyabb Rd (near Boes Rd roundabout).

Other access points: local access via the end of Wellington Road.


Somerville Recreation Reserve

307 Jones Road, Somerville 3912

Features: cricket practice nets, tennis courts, netball courts, three pavilions, two playgrounds, oval, Scout hall, public toilets and bowls club.


Todd Grove Reserve

Todd Grove, Somerville 3912

Features: a wooded meadow with playground with slide and climbing wall, a seat and grassed area.


Tyabb Central Reserve

1562 Frankston-Flinders Road, Tyabb 3913

Features: BBQ, playground, public toilets, oval and pavilion.


Warringine Park

2 Salmon Street, Hastings 3195

Features: Coastal, Wetland, Creek and Woodland sections. Dogs are not permitted.

Bittern Coastal Wetlands Walk: start from the small carpark opposite 40 Salmon Street, Hastings and follow the boardwalk through to Jacks Beach car park off Lynch Road, Crib Point. This walk forms part of the much longer Westernport Bay Trail.

Ted Harris Walk: start at 2230 Frankston-Flinders Road and wind your way along the creek section of Warringine Park finishing at Kinfauns Lane or Hendersons Road.

  • Coastal wetlands that form part of the internationally significant Western Port Ramsar site
  • Salt marshes so special the coastal area is classified by the National Trust
  • Geological formations and flora communities so significant they are listed on the Register of the National Estate: A bird watchers paradise with over 110 bird species including the endangered Great Egret and Lewin’s Rail. A haven for other native fauna species including the threatened Swamp Skink and Southern Brown Bandicoot.
  • Vegetation communities that include open woodland, coastal heathland, paperbark scrub, saltmarsh and one of the southernmost stands of mangroves in the world
