VICTORIA READY TO WORK WITH NEW FEDERAL SMALL AND FAMILY BUSINESS MINISTER

Victorian Shadow Minister for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises, Neale Burgess today congratulates and welcomes the appointment of the Hon Craig Laundy MP to his position as the new Federal Minister for Small and Family Business.

This follows a full reshuffle of the Turnbull Government Cabinet and Ministerial positions which has seen a number of Victorian’s such as new Deputy Nationals Leader, Senator Hon Bridget McKenzie, Hon Dan Tehan and the Hon Alan Tudge promoted to key roles.

Mr Laundy’s promotion is testament to his unwavering commitment to bettering the lives of Australia’s small businesses by providing much needed tax cuts whilst also reducing burdensome red tape.

Mr Laundy has worked closely with small businesses prior to his election to Parliament in 2013 to the key seat of Reid and has championed their causes since.

Mr Burgess looks forward to working with Mr Laundy on the key priorities and issues affecting Victorian small businesses, including reducing the cost of energy, which has spiralled out of control under the Andrews Labor Government.

Mr Burgess has thanked former Minister, the Hon Michael McCormack for his good work on behalf of the small business sector and wishes him well in his new portfolio responsibilities.

Quotes attributable to Neale Burgess MP, Member for Hastings:

“It is pleasing to see, that unlike the Andrews Labor Government, the Federal Government is putting small businesses first and have appointed someone who has been both involved and owned his own small business.”

“Craig will be a champion for small businesses, but I will be ensuring that Victorian businesses will be put on the map.  We will work together to ensure Victorian small businesses the support they so badly need.”

“Thank you to former Minister Michael McCormack, he was a terrific Minister and I wish him well”
